Porte Zoninq Board of Adiustment and amendments regarding RV Parks and Campground uses <br />and Self Storage and Mini -Warehouse uses, with the understanding that the 200-foot notification <br />area has been remanded to the Planning and Zoning Commission for further review and <br />recommendation to the City Councils the motion was seconded by -mayor Pro Tern Engelken; the <br />motion was adopted, 9-0. <br />c. The City Council will hold a public hearing to receive comments on the recommendation of <br />the Dangerous Buildings Inspections Board for condemnation of two (2) <br />dangerouslsubstandard structures located at 914 S. Broadway St.; and 9306 Carlow Ln. <br />[Richard Glass, Chief Building Official] <br />Mayor Rigby opened the public hearing at 6:43 p.m. Richard Glass, Chief Building Official, provided <br />a presentation. Charlie Aguilar, owner of the property, said he had not received notification after <br />purchasing 914 S. Broadway on December 5, 2022. Staff agreed to meet with Mr. Aguilar. Phillip <br />Marler, owner of 9306 Carlow Lane, asked for more time to repair the property. Mayor Rigby closed <br />the public hearing at 6:55 p.m. <br />d. Consideration and possible action to adopt Ordinance 2022-3906 ordering the <br />condemnation of dangerous/substandard commercial building located at 914 S. Broadway <br />Street, La Porte, Texas. [Richard Glass, Chief Building Official] <br />Councilperson Williams moved to postpone for 90 days the adoption of Ordinance 2022-3906 <br />ordering the condemnation of dangerous/substandard commercial building located at 914 S. <br />Broadway Street, La Porte, Texas: the motion was seconded by Councilperson Helton; the motion <br />was adopted, 9-0. <br />e. Consideration and possible action to adopt Ordinance 2022-3902 ordering the <br />condemnation of dangerouslsubstandard residential dwelling structure located at 9306 <br />Carlow Lane, La Porte, Texas. Presentation, discussion, and possible action to direct administrative staff to forward <br />proposed amendments to Ordinance 2023-3911, an ordinance amending Chapter 106 <br />'Zoning' of the Code of Ordinances of the City of La Porte by establishing regulations related <br />to the designation of the high frequency truck route, to the La Porte Planning and Zoning <br />Commission for review and recommendation. [Councilpersons Bentley, Williams, and <br />Helton] <br />Councilperson Bentley moved to direct administrative staff to forward proposed amendments to <br />Ordinance 2023-3911, an ordinance amending Chapter 106'Zoning' of the Code of Ordinances of <br />the City of La Porte by establishing regulations related to the designation of the high frequency <br />truck route, to the La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission for review and recommendation to <br />remove West D Street from the high frequency truck route ordinance; the motion was seconded by <br />Councilperson Helton: the motion was adopted, 5-4. Mayor Rigby, Mayor Pro Tern Engelken, and <br />Councilp_ersons Martin and McCaulley voting against. <br />8. ELECTION MATTERS <br />a. Presentation, discussion, and possible action to adopt Ordinance 2023-3910, calling the May <br />6, 2023, general election for the City of LaPorte, Texas, for the purpose of electing members <br />to La Porte City Council positions - Councilperson At -Large Position B, Councilperson <br />District 1, and Councilperson District 6.
