J. Walker Earl Ehlers Susan Robinson Others in Attendance: None Staff Members Present: Masood Malik, City Planner and Peggy Lee, Office Coordinator 1. Call to order. Meeting called to order by Chairman Don Hill at 6:10 p.m. 2. Roll call of members. Members in attendance for roll call were Don Hill and Herman Berges. 3. Consider approval of February 4,2010, meeting minutes. Motion by Herman Berges to approve the February 4, 2010, meeting minutes. Second by Don Hill. Minutes were approved as presented. 4. Discuss committee activities in preparation for Census Day, April 1, 2010. Completed: ./' A census link has been placed on the front page of the City's website. ./' A census message has been placed on the March utility bills. ./' The census proclamation signed by the Mayor has been placed on the City's website as a news article. ./' Our Partnership Specialist has been in contact with the LPISD Superintendent about the Census in Schools program, which is being managed by the school administration. There are a variety of lesson plans, maps, and teaching guides for teachers geared for children and teens. ./' A brief census article will run in the Bayshore Sun on March 5th; message will be changed for subsequent publications. ./' Herman Berges contacted David Novasad at the library to see if he would be willing to produce a short video promoting the census. Mr. Novasad prepared a lY2 minute video that has been placed on the City's cable access Channel 16. ./' Census Day has been placed on the City's website calendar for April 1. ./' Flyers were not received in time to hand out with the City's garbage bag distribution. ./' A census message has been placed on the City's facebook and twitter accounts. ./' A census article was placed in "La Porte by the Bay" publication.
