<br />November 4, 2007 <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATION STATEMENT <br />RFQ No. 08601 <br />PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES <br />CITY -WIDE DRAINAGE STUDY <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The City of La Porte is inviting the submission of Qualifications (RFQ) from AlE <br />consulting firms for Professional Engineering Services for a city-wide drainage study. <br />Recent flooding on a city-wide basis has pointed out the need for a comprehensive study <br />to identify current conditions, identify maintenance responsibilities and provide for short <br />and long-term solutions to flooding problems. <br /> <br />THE PROJECT <br /> <br />The Project shall consist of preparation of a Drainage Master Plan that will identify <br />problems and provide guidance and solutions for short and long term flood protection, <br />drainage and stormwater management. <br /> <br />ANTICIPATED SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />It is anticipated that the following scope of services may be used to develop a contract <br />with the successful Consultant. The City reserves the right to modify the scope as needed <br />to accomplish the project goals. <br /> <br />a. Map current watersheds using ESRI format. Identify anticipated surveying. <br />b. Identify ownership and maintenance responsibilities for major channels. <br />c. Review existing city policies and standards and recommend changes. <br />d. Perform assessment of current drainage and flood control conditions and issues. <br />e. Propose short-term solutions to problems. <br />f. Propose long-term solutions; identify responsible agency and probable costs. <br />g. Identify funding sources for floodplain management and infrastructure <br />improvements. <br />h. Prepare and publish a report summarizing the work completed, to be titled "2008 <br />Master Drainage Plan for the City of La Porte". <br /> <br />ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE <br /> <br />· A draft letter report (Report #1) for Task a. through d. will be presented to the <br />City not later than 30 days after the notice to proceed. <br />· A draft letter report (Report #2) for Task e. will be presented to the City not <br />later than 45 days after approval of Report # 1. <br />· A draft letter report (Report #3) for Task f. and g. will be presented to the City <br />not later than 90 days after approval of Report #2. <br />
