<br />MINUTES OF THE DRAINAGE AND FLOODING COMMITTEE <br />May 18, 2009 <br /> <br />1. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mike Mosteit at 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Committee Members Present: Council Members: Chairman Mike Mosteit, Vice Chairman Mike <br />Clausen, Committee Members Chuck Engelken and Tommy Moser. <br /> <br />Committee Members Absent: Howard Ebow <br /> <br />Other Council members Present: Daryl Leonard. <br /> <br />Members of City Employees Present: City Secretary Martha Gillett, City Manager Ron Bottoms, <br />Director of Planning Tim Tietjens, Public Works Director Steve Gillett, Emergency Management <br />Coordinator Jeff Suggs, Economic Development Coordinator and City Engineer Rodney Slaton. <br /> <br />Others present: Ted Powell, Margaret Compton, Adam Yanelli of Bayshore Sun, Kristen Gauthier, Tim <br />0' Conner, Charles Nute, Charles Rothman, Cheryl Westmoreland, Richard and Ellen Wirin, Chris <br />Lemmings, Ed Fangman, Lili Rigney, Mike Praser,Kim Still, Jimmy Fincher, Donald Davis, Jim <br />Blackburn, Larry Dunbar, David Janda, Mark Follis, Katherine Aguilar, <br /> <br />2. Consider approval of Minutes of Drainage and Flooding Committee Meeting held on March 23, 2009. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee member Engelken to approve the minutes as presented. A second by <br />Committee Member Clausen. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Tommy Moser, Mike Mosteit, Mike Clausen and Chuck Engelken. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Absent: Howard Ebow <br /> <br />3. Petitions, Remonstrance's, communications, and citizens and taxpayers wishing to address the <br />Drainage and Flooding Committee. <br /> <br />Don Davis - 3621 E. Desert Dr. - informed committee of drainage concerns in retention pond near his <br />subdivision and requested the restrictions be removed. <br /> <br />4. Receive report from Klotz and Associates on Fairmont Park East and Brookglen Drainage Study. <br /> <br />Gary Struzick of Klotz and Associates provided the committee with an overview of the report regarding <br />Fairmont Park East and Brookglen Subdivision Drainage. <br /> <br />Recommended option 3 for the Fairmont Park East area at a cost of 1.1 million dollars. The <br />engineering is based on a five year flood event. <br /> <br />Mr. Struzick informed the committee they would be forthcoming with the Brookglen Subdivision <br />recommendations and costs. <br />
