<br />MINUTES OF THE DRAINAGE AND FLOODING COMMITTEE <br />JUNE 3, 2009 <br /> <br />1. Call to Order. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mike Mosteit at 5:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Committee Members Present: Chairman Mike Mosteit, Vice Chairman Mike Clausen, Chuck <br />Enge/ken and Tommy Moser. <br /> <br />Committee Members Absent: Howard Ebow no longer on City Council. <br /> <br />Other Council members Present: None <br /> <br />Members of City Employees Present: City Secretary Martha Gillett, City Manager Ron Bottoms, <br />Assistant City Manager John Joerns, GIS Technician Isaac Rodriguez, Public Works Director <br />Steve Gillett, and City Engineer Rodney Slaton. <br /> <br />Others present: Margaret Compton, and Melissa Rothmund, Roxann Mouton, Charles Nute, Kim <br />Still, Flo Ann Counts, Billie Bowles, Jim Counts, Cheryl Westmoreland, Richard and Ellen Winn, <br />Bryan Moore, Adam Yanelli of Bayshore Sun, Gary Struzick and Brian Addicks of Klotz <br />Associates. <br /> <br />2. Consider approval of Minutes of Drainage and Flooding Committee Meeting held on May 18, 2009. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee member Engelken to approve the minutes as presented. A <br />second by Committee Member Clausen. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Tommy Moser, Mike Mosteit, Mike Clausen and Chuck Engelken. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />3. Petitions, Remonstrance's, communications, and citizens and taxpayers wishing to address the <br />Drainage and Flooding Committee. <br /> <br />Roxanne Mouton - Valleybrook and Spencer Highway - Ms. Mouton noted she had questions for <br />the committee. She wanted to know what projects were planned for the area and showed pictures <br />to the drainage committee of flooding concerns. <br /> <br />Jim Counts - Garden Club on Kansas Street - Mr. Counts informed the committee he is <br />representing the Garden Club. He informed them of the flooding concerns with the building and <br />the high costs of repairs. Requested the area be culvert area be cleaned up. He also informed the <br />committee he had already spoke with City Engineer Rodney Slaten. He showed the committee <br />some pictures. <br /> <br />Margaret Compton - 10901 Dogwood - Ms. Compton requested the committee consider the <br />highest level or repairs and upgrades to resolve the drainage issues in Fairmont Park East. <br /> <br />Larry Dunbar - 6342 Dobridge Drive, Sugar/and, Texas - informed the committee he was a Civil <br />Engineer that had been hired by the Fairmont Park Homeowner's Association. He noted he had <br />questions about some of the numbers and costs in the Drainage Study Report. He will be <br />providing the committee with a written report. <br />
