Preliminary Engineering Design for Northwest Park Diversion Basin (Redirection of F101- 06 -00)
This report will include hydraulic and hydrologic calculations used to evaluate alternatives and document
the benefits of the improvements and estimated construction cost of the alternatives to the channel used to
solicit financial support from HCFCD. The scope of work does not include the necessary design elements
including detailed survey information, Geotechnical Investigation and Environmental Study due to the
nature of the scope.
Preliminary Engineering Design for Shady River (Taylor Bayou, HCFC Unit A- 104 -00 -00
This report will include the updating the watershed hydrology to include new residential and commercial
development in the upper Taylor bayou watershed, develop a hydraulic model for the channel from its
study limits to SH 146, determine the limits and size of the proposed channel improvements to
hydraulically convey the 100 year design storm within the channel banks and locate and hydraulically
size a mitigation pond volume and control structure to mitigate impacts from the proposed channel
improvements. This work will be phased by task to avoid unnecessary engineering design if the
hydrologic analysis concluded that channel improvements are not needed. The scope of work does not
include the necessary design elements including detailed survey information, Geotechnical Investigation
and Environmental Study due to the nature of the scope.
Preliminary Engineering Design for B112 -00 -00 (Willow Springs Bayou HCFCD Unit B112- 00 -00)
This report will include hydrologic and hydraulic analysis to evaluate alternative channel cross sections
with the FEMA effective hydraulic model, determine the hydraulic profiles along HCFCD Unit B112-00-
00 for various design storms and locate and hydraulically size a mitigation pond volume and control
structure to mitigate any downstream adverse impacts from the proposed channel improvements. This
work will be phased by task to avoid unnecessary engineering design if the hydrologic analysis concluded
that channel improvements are not needed. The scope of work does not include the necessary design
elements including detailed survey information, Geotechnical Investigation and Environmental Study due
to the nature of the scope.
Action Required:
Authorize Staff to present Proposals for Engineering Services for Preliminary Engineering Design of
Battleground Estates, Northwest Park Diversion Basin (Re- direction of F101-06), B112 Channel
Improvement, and Shady River to City Council.
• • 1 % ed for Dr_;,j a' e Committee A. enda
_ . 7- ' 1 (
' : ttoms, City Manager Date
