We understand that the <br /> City has approximately $900K of construction funds to improve the drainage in the <br /> Battleground Estates area. <br /> Klotz Associates will develop a Preliminary Engineering Report including supporting <br /> hydrologic and hydraulic calculations to submit to the City of La Porte and eventually to <br /> Harris County and Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) to reflect the alternatives <br /> evaluated and proposed improvements to the channels. <br /> The goal of this effort is to evaluate and determine what improvements are needed to reduce <br /> the structural flooding within the Battleground Estates area. It is planned that this work effort <br /> will be a two phase approach with the first phase evaluating the restricted culverts at North P <br /> Street and F 101 -00 -00 and the second phase evaluating the local drainage elements within <br /> Battleground Estates and the downstream channels. Listed below are the details of the scope. <br /> Surveying is anticipated and is included in this scope of work. The results of the surveying <br /> will to allow us to extend the hydraulic model further upstream into the Battleground Estates <br /> area by picking up channel sizes, flow lines, culvert sizes, location and flow lines and some <br /> representative slab elevations. <br /> Soils evaluations are anticipated and are included with this scope of services. The soils <br /> evaluation will evaluate the soil conditions and to include the results of the soils evaluation <br /> into the recommended projects. <br /> Environmental investigation are anticipated and are included with this scope of services. The <br /> environmental evaluation will evaluate the local area and the results of the environmental <br /> investigation will be utilized in the development of the recommended projects. <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> Task #1 - Kick off meeting <br /> 1. Kick off meeting with staff to discuss goals /objectives for the plan. <br /> Task #2 — Evaluation of restricted culverts at North P Street and F101 and issue letter <br /> report <br /> 1. Conduct field measurements to get a generalized location, size of culvert and <br /> approximate depth of each of the culverts located at the intersection of North P Street and <br /> F101-00-00 channel. <br /> 2. Have a meeting with Harris County to discuss the overall effort and to understand any <br /> improvements or plans that they may have that could impact the drainage in the <br /> Battleground Estates area specifically North P Street. <br />
