CALL TO ORDER - Chairman Martin called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. <br /> 2. CITIZEN COMMENT (Generally limited to five minutes per person, in accordance with state law, the <br /> time may be reduced if there is a high number of speakers or other considerations.) <br /> There were no citizen comments. <br /> 3. STATUTORY AGENDA <br /> (a) Approve minutes of the meeting held on March 9, 2020. [Chairman Martin] <br /> Committee member Engelken moved to approve the minutes; the motion was adopted, 3-0. <br /> (b) Presentation, discussion, and possible in connection with receipt of a report regarding the <br /> Harris County Flood Control District's(HCFCD) and Harris County Precinct 2's current and <br /> future plans relating to flooding in the City of La Porte. [Lorenzo Wingate, Assistant <br /> Director of Public Works] <br /> Mr. Wingate said HCFCD was moving forward with plans for preliminary engineering for property <br /> in the northern section of Brookglen, for detention in a five-acre area near Gladwyne Court. He <br /> noted they were then expected to work on the adjacent area to the south and then to regional <br /> solutions. Regarding F10106, Mr. Wingate said HCFCD was also working on designs to get <br /> across the pipeline corridor. For F216, Phase Ill, from Madison to Sens Road, he said HCFCD <br /> has also secured consultants and were coordinating with the City, and that additional clearing and <br /> cleaning of the ditch was being accomplished. <br /> (c) Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding the status of current drainage <br /> projects. [Lorenzo Wingate, Assistant Director of Public Works] <br /> Mr. Wingate provided updates on drainage projects, noting the consultant had sent crews at <br /> Bayside Terrace and about 30% of the PER was complete. He said two allocations had been <br /> received for 6th Street from Madison to Main and that Phase I would be on the first June Council <br /> agenda. He said the scope for Phase II was being completed. Mr. Wingate referred to the list of <br /> other projects in the packet for which grant applications had been made, as the City was notified <br /> on April 13 that TDEM had not selected any of them.
