CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Mike Mosteit at 6:02 p.m. Members of the Committee Present: Chairperson Mike Mosteit, Committee Members Barry Beasley and Chuck Engelken Members Absent: None Members ofCitv Executive Staff and City Emplovees Present: City Manager Debra Feazelle, City Secretary Martha Gillett, Assistant City Manager John Joems and Engineering Tech Supervisor Brian Sterling Others Present: Councilmember Bruce Meismer, Darrell Dickins, Joyce Dickins, Randy Peake, Sidney A. Grant, Mrs. Sidney Grant, Sidney T. Grant, Don Harbuck, James Kerr, Sue Gale Mock Kooken and James Washburn 2. APPROVE MINUTES OF THE JULY 3, 2003 FILL DffiT REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING Motion was made by Committee Member Chuck Engelken to approve minutes as presented. Second by Committee Member Barry Beasley. Motion carried unanimously. 3. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CITIZENS AND TAXPAYERS WISmNG TO ADDRESS THE FILL DIRT REVIEW COMMITTEE The following citizens addressed the Fill Dirt Review Committee: Randy Peake, 10820 North L Street, La Porte, Texas 77571, Mr. Peake informed City Council his property floods, he is concerned about not being allowed to use fill dirt for low areas on his property . Don Harbuck, 2302 Lomax Drive, La Porte, Texas 77571, Mr. Harbuck informed City Council he lives in Lomax and is in favor of using fill dirt to build up property. Sidney A. Grant, 1907 Lomax Drive, La Porte, Texas 77571, Mr. Grant informed Council he has been using fill dirt on his property; and is in favor of continuing use offill dirt. Mr. Grant provided City Council with information in their meeting packets; recommending Council eliminate the moratorium; and consider a bond approval for flood control. 4. COMMITTEE MEMBERS TO CONDUCT FIELD TOURS IN DISTRICTS 1, 4 AND 6, THERE WILL NOT BE ANY DISCUSSION/RECOMMENDATIONS UNTIL AFTER THE FILL DffiT REVIEW COMMITTEE RECONVENES AT CITY HALL.
