~ ~ <br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTS FIRE CODE REVIEW COMMITTEE <br />NOVEMBER 13, 1978 <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE PRESENT: <br />D.R. McLaughlin, Joe Sease, R.L. Caldwell, Jimmy Spradling, <br />Fred Westergren, J.M. Goodman, Vic Taylor, Rusty Shephard, <br />James Hudgens. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE ABSENT: <br />Tom Barrett, Jim Counts, Roy Groda. <br />OTHER PERSONS PRESENT: <br />Duane Matula <br />PRESIDING: Jim Hudgens <br />+ + + <br />CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Jim Hudgens called the meeting to order. <br />READING OF MINUTES: Secretary, Paul Hickenbottom, read the minutes <br />o t e ast meeting dated September 19, 1978. The minutes were <br />approved as read by the following vote: <br />Ayes: All for <br />Nays: None <br />OLD BUSINESS: The secretary was directed by the chairman at the <br />Septem er 1978, meeting to check into the legality of section <br />2.24. The secretary talked to the city's legal representative <br />Knox Askins, who had called State Fire Marshal's Office in Austin, <br />and was told by that office that the section dealing with the <br />authorities of the fire marshal was still curent, but the State <br />Fire Marshal's office in the near future was going to update <br />that and it would be beneficial to the committee at a later date <br />to check on the legality and a possible update of this section <br />in the future. <br />The secretary was also directed at that meeting to send a copy <br />and a letter to the Independent School District and ask for any <br />reply they may have, also to five different industries in the area <br />
