• <br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTS FIRE CODE REVIEW CONdKITTEE <br />APRIL 15, 1982 <br />MEMBERS OF THE CON~IITTEE PRESENT: <br />Robert Byars, Delbert Walker, Jerry Hodge, Paul Hickenbottom, Al Fields, <br />Mark Williams, Wilson Dugger <br />Ervin Griffith representing David Paulissen <br />John Dur~at~an representing Joe Sease <br />M~ERS OF THE COMMITTEE ABSENT: <br />Greg Yakim, Ellis Ebarb, Morris Rose, Kevin Graves, Carlos Smith, Tom <br />Handy, Jack Owen, James Sitton. <br />PRESIDING: Jerry Hodge <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER -Jerry Hodge called the meeting to order. <br />2. READING OF THE MINUTES - No meeting on April 8 due to Easter Holiday. <br />The minutes o e meeting April 1, 1982 were read and approved <br />without change or deletions. <br />Motion to approve the mirYUtes as read was made by Delbert Walker <br />Mootion seconded: Mark Williams <br />Ayes: All For <br />Nays: None <br />3. OLD BUSINESS - Article 3 - Division 5 - Section 3.11 (d) was discussed <br />an approve to read with the changes as follows: <br />ARTICLE 3 GIIQERAL PRECAUTIONS AGAINST FIRE <br />DIVISION 5 FIRE PROTECTION AND APPLIANCES: GENERAL PROVISIONS <br />SEC. 3.11 Des~~_a_tion of type and nutnber of ire appd.iances or systems <br />to be insta~~ed and maintaine . <br />d All bui dings required by the Fire Code or Building Code to have <br />a sprinkler system for fire protection shall have a wet sprinkler system. <br />The design and installation of said system shall be as per N.F.P.A. 13 <br />specifications. <br />NOTE: In addition to the aforementioned requirements: 1,2,3,4,5 as <br />follows shall also be required. <br />(1) ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCIES <br />(a) All Class A assembly occupancies shall be totally <br />sprinklered. <br />(b) When Class B assenbly occupancies are located in a <br />building above the level of exit discharge, the building <br />shall be totally sprinklered. <br />(c) When Class C assembly occupancies are located in a build- <br />ing two (2) stories or more above the level of exit dis- <br />charge, the building shall be totally sprinklered. <br />(2) BUSINESS OCCUPANCIES <br />Business occupancies three (3) stories or more in height shall <br />be totally sprinklered. <br />
