Hickenbottan called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. <br />2. OLD BUSINESS- Article 16 -Division 6 -Section 16.40 was discussed and <br />approved with changes as .follows: <br />ARTICLE 16: FLAMMABLE AND CONBi USTIBLE LI UIDS <br />DIVISION 6 SERVICE STATIONS <br />SEC. Smo ,open awes, fire extinguishers; portable containers, etc. <br />--T-• .., '~ 5 <br />~a~ -here malt be no smoking or open flames in the areas use or ling, <br />servicing internal combustion engines, receiving or dispensing of flammable or <br />combustible liquids. "No Smoking-Stop Engine" signs shall be posted. The <br />placement of said signs shall be at each end of the pump island, clearly visible <br />to the person being served, or at the discretion of the Fire Marshal. Letters <br />on such signs shall be not less than two (2) inches in height and three-eights <br />(3/8) inch stroke on contrasting background. The motors of all vehicles being <br />fueled shall be shut off during fueling operations. <br />(b) At least two (2) 10 BC rated portable fire extinguishers in proper <br />working order are to be provided on the premises separated as far as practical, <br />consistent with the layout of she station and approved by the Fire rlarshal. At <br />least one of the aforementioned fire extinguishers must be within seventy-five <br />(75) feet of the pump island. <br />(c) The two (2) aforementioned fire extinguishers provided in accordance <br />with Subsection (b) of this section shall be inspected at least once a year by <br />afire extinguisher company licensed by the State of Texas for servicing of <br />portable fire extinguishers. <br />(d) Dispensing into portable containers. No delivery of any Class I <br />liquids shall be allowed into portable containers unless the container is U.L. <br />rated or Factory Mutual approved for such use and is properly labeled with the <br />word CASOLIl~. <br />(1) All approved portable containers over fifteen (15) gallon capacity <br />shall be secured while being transported in a manner approved by the <br />Fire Marshal. <br />
