SEC. 31.19 Fire Ext' 'shers a At east one por e fire extinguisher having a 2A only classifica.tian shall be provided on each floor and distributed throughout the structure or premises in such a mariner that the horizontal distance of travel to the nearest unit from any point in a building shall not exceed seventy-five (75) feet. (b) One or more additional extinguishers of suitable type and size shall be installed for the protection of special hazards as designated by the Fire Marshal. These shall include: (1) Stages. One extinguisher having a 2A only classification on each side of the stage. (2) Kitchens and laboratories. Kitchens shall have extinguishers having a 2A lOBC classification and vent hoods st~.ll have an approved vent hoed fire extinguishing system. Laboratories shall have extinguishers with a 2A lOBC classification, (3) Storage areas and work shops. Extinguishers•liaving an A,B, or C classification, as type and extent of hazard indicate. (c) Training of teachers, custodial personnel, in use of extinguishers shall be done under a continuing plan approved by the Fire Marshal. At all times there shall be a miniurnan of two (2) trained personnel available and gross average of one trained individual per each one htmdred(100) occupants or major fraction. (d) An approved contingency plan for various emergencies shall be prepared for each school facility and subject to annual review. This plan shall include (but not limited to): (1) Designate ambulance loading location. (2) Means of sending afire alarm. (3) Contingency location for inclement weather and wind storms. (4) Emergency points of entry through fences, walls and gates. (5) Exact procedures for transmitting alarm of fire to the La Porte Fire Department. (e) An annual pressure test shall be made of all gas piping in compliance with Article 3, Division 6 of this code.
