Page 3 • <br />ARTICLE 31 SPECIAL OCCUPANCIES <br />DIVISION 6 FOSTER HOMES <br />SEC. 31.63 Building Service Equipment <br />(A) Heating Equipment <br />(1) Unvented room heaters shall not be permitted. <br />Oil and gas fired room heaters shall be installed in <br />accordance with the La Porte Building Code. A guard <br />shall be provided to protect the children from hot <br />surfaces and open flames. <br />(2) No stove or combustion heater shall be so <br />located as to block escape in case of malfunctioning of <br />the stove or heater. <br />(B) Electrical Services <br />(1) Electrical wiring in new construction shall <br />be installed in accordance with the La Porte Electrical <br />Code. <br />(2) Ln~:existing buildings, the electrical wiring <br />shall be sized to provide for the load. Electrical <br />appliances shall be grounded in accordance with the <br />La Porte Electrical Code. Receptacles and outlets <br />serviced by extension cord-type wiring are prohibited. <br />(3) Special protective receptacle covers shall be <br />installed in all areas occupied by children in homes for <br />children under 5 years of age. <br />Motion made by Delbert Walker, seconded by Joe Sease to approve. <br />Motion carried. <br />Ayes: All <br />Nays: None <br />ARTICLE 33 STORAGE OF COMBUSTIBLES <br />DIVISION 1 GENERAL <br />SEC. 33.1 Application of article provisions <br />The storage of combustibles and all related activities <br />thereof shall meet the minimum requirements of the N.F.P.A. <br />Standards, as adopted, in regards to Fire and Life Safety, <br />unless otherwise stated in this code. <br />Motion was made by Delbert Walker, seconded by Joe Sease, to <br />approve. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: All <br />Nays: None <br />Motion was made by Joe Sease, seconded by Al Fields to delete <br />Article 33, Division 1, Sections 33.2 through 33.40; Article <br />33, Division 2; Article 33, Division 3; and Article 33, Divi- <br />sion 4; and Article 33, Division 5. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: All <br />Nays: None <br />
