Consider approval of Minutes of Regular Meeting of La Porte Fiscal Affairs Committee <br />Minutes held on October 25, 2004. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Beasley to approve the minutes as presented. A <br />second by Committee Member Tommy Moser. Committee Member Howard Ebow <br />abstained. The motion carried. <br /> <br />3. Discussion Items <br /> <br />a. The September 30, 2004 Annual Financial Report was discussed. Tom Pederson <br />provided an overview of the draft report, and noted that the report was drafted by City <br />Staff. Assistant Finance Director Michael Dolby will distribute Council and Staff <br />budget workbooks. The City received the highest rating and a clean opinion, and a <br />single audit since we receive more that $500,000 in federal funds. Internal will carry <br />over from last year. Commodity Codes need to be utilized for bids spending over <br />$25,000.00 <br /> <br />A recommendation is to continue implementing policies to prevent fraud. Council <br />would need to adopt fraud policy. Assistant City Manager Cynthia Alexander will <br />bring. policies to the next meeting. Copies of adjusting journal entries will be <br />presented by Mr. Pederson. Mr. Pederson noted how well the audit went and staff is <br />doing a good job. The final audit will be issued in approximately one week. <br />
