'~'." . <br /> <br />Page 498 <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />REGULAR MEEING OF THE LOMAX CITY COUNCIL <br />December 10, 1979 <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Malone at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Malone; Alderwoman Gardner, Aldermen Carr, Kuehl, Womack, <br />Sutherland; City Attorney Fuller; Public Works Director Taylor; <br />City Secretary Waters. <br /> <br />There were two (2) representatives of the press present in the Council room. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Alderman Womack, second by Alderman Carr, approving the <br />minutes as presented, motion carried 5-for and O-against. <br />Gardner-for Carr-for Kuehl-for Womack-for Sutherland-for <br /> <br />Old Business: <br /> <br />L <br /> <br />Bids on the patrol car for the police department which had been received <br />prior to 5:00 P.M. Dec. 10th were opened by the Mayor and publicly read. <br /> <br />Vinson Bay town Dodge---$6,824.37---60 to 90 days (1980 model) <br />Timmers Chevrolet------ 6,633.58---5 days (1979 model) <br />Timmers Chevrolet ----- 7,306.86---120 days (1980 model) <br />Norman Frede Chrev.---- 6,890.20---120 days (1980 model) <br /> <br />Motion was made by Alderman Kuehl to accept the bid as presented by <br />Timmers Chevrolet for the 1979 Chevrolet, Malibu, second by Alderman <br />Gardner, motion carried 5-for and O-against. <br />Gardner-for Carr-for Kuehl-for Womack-for Sutherland-for <br /> <br />Bids on the Back hoe for the maintenance department which had been received <br />prior to 5:00 P.M., Dec. 10th were opened by the Mayor and publicly read. <br /> <br />Alvin Implement & Supply----$22,975.00----14 days <br /> <br />Motion was made by Alderman Carr, second by Alderman Womack to accept <br />the bid as presented by Alvin Implement & Supply, motion carried 5-for and <br />O-against. <br />Gardner-for Carr-for Kuehl-for Womack-for Sutherland-for <br /> <br />L <br /> <br />After lengthy discussion council agreeded the old backhoe will be sold <br />or traded in. <br /> <br />A petition for consolidation of the City of Lomax with the City of La Porte <br />was presented to the Council by the City Secretary. The petition contained <br />seventy-one (71) signatures of registered, resident voters. <br /> <br />Ordinance #185-An ordinance calling an election of the City of Lomax <br />to consider the consolidation of the cities of Lomax and La Porte, Texas; <br />
