DISCUSS THE N~EED~ FOR' A MOB'ILE' HOME PARK - MINEOLA WALKER - <br />Mineola Walker was present to discuss the need for a <br />federal housing program. She stated that the Mayor's <br />secretary called her this morning to attend this meeting <br />and discuss La Porte's housing problems. Mr. Christensen <br />told her she should have gone to the Housing Board. <br />Mrs. Walker requested the City to make an effort to obtain <br />an extension of the medical services from Harris County in <br />La Porte. <br />Mrs. Walker further discussed the possibility of using some <br />of her land for a trailer park located on Broadway. <br />This Commission would like to know when the Housing Board <br />meets. Mineola Walker would like to be invited to the <br />next meeting. <br />+ + + <br />•_ 4. ANY OTHER •BU~S'INES'S THAT MAY C'OME' BEFORE THE COMMISSION - The <br />Commission members discussed the variances that were turned <br />down by the Planning and Zoning Commission and approved by <br />the City Commission. The Zoning Commission had denied <br />approval of these variances and would have appreciated an <br />opportunity to express our reasoning for denial. If in the <br />future we are not going to be afforded this opportunity, <br />we respectfully request these variances not be brought before <br />us. <br />The City Clerk was left a memo requesting the last paragraph <br />be typed and submitted to be read at the June 9, 1977, Com- <br />mission Meeting. <br /> <br />w.
