The <br />agency expected to fund the project is shown in parentheses. <br /> <br />POTABLE 4]ATER <br />The annexations of Fairmont Park, Lomax, Spenwick, and College <br />View, in the past fifteen years, brought into the City large land <br />areas having separate water systems. 7+he master Plan formalizes <br />an ongoing program directed at a single;~inter-connected city-wide <br />storage and distribution network. It also provides for future <br />main extensions to serv e anticipated:.future developrr,ent, for <br />additional pumping and elevated storage capacity to accommodate <br />--expected growth, and for fire lines ~ se~rving-~Spenwick. <br />The La Porte Area Water Authority (LPAWA) is preparing for the day <br />when the Harris-Gelveston Coastal Subsidence District will no <br />longer allow ground water to be withdrawn in sufficient quantities <br />to support our needs. The target year for conversion to surface <br />water is 1990. The study (reference 6) commissioned by the <br />authority has explored several possibilities: <br />In fact, the LPAF7A has instructed their consultants to investigate <br />still another potential source of treated water under their <br />current Engineering Services Agreement, thereby continuing its <br />search for the most economical means of converting to surface <br />water by 1990. <br />• <br /> <br />L~ - <br />
