<br />• <br />Minutes of the La Porte Planning <br />and Zoning Commission <br />April 2, 19$7 <br />Mr. Latimer closed the Public hearing and ask Mr. Paulissen, to explain <br />the new Ordinance. (S'pecial Conditional Use Permit). The Conditional <br />Use permits must meet some conditions required by the Zoning Ordinance <br />and if met permit should be recommended. <br />The church is an allowable use in a Residential Zone and the parking <br />screening is to make it have a little less impac on the neighborhood. <br />Mr. Paulissen, explained the Special Conditional Use permit for La <br />Porte Rental. He stated if they comply with the fence screening. <br />Staff's opinion is for the permit to be granted. <br />Mr Latimer said they could recommend a Special Conditional Use permit <br />based on the Ordinance and that would allow them to get in the <br />building. Any outside storage would have to be screened. The Board <br />would recommend to City Council and Council must have the final word. <br />Charlie Boyle moved to recommend the Special conditional Use permit for <br />• La Porte Rental-All and Inge Browder seconded the motion. All members <br />were in favor. Motion passed. <br />Mr. Paulissen,will schedule them for Council with the City Secretary. <br />It was recommended to Council that the permit for Fairmont Park Baptist <br />Church be granted and recommended to Council the required screening be <br />an evergreen variety. Bobby Blackwell made the motion the Board accept <br />the request for Conditional Use Permit and it was seconded by Inge <br />Browder. Members were all in favor. Motion passed. Now it will be <br />sent to City Council. <br />Any concerns or changes on the new Ordinance the Board feels should be <br />done at the 6 months review. <br />Last item discussed was the vacant position created by Karl Johnston's, <br />resignation.
