' LA ~tTE PLANNING & ZONING COMM~SION <br />MINUTES <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 10~ 1987 <br />Chairman Doug Latimer called the meeting to order at 7:03 P.M. <br />Members Present: Jack Gresham, Charles Boyle, Lola Phillips, Janet <br />Graves, Inge ;Browder <br />l~.embers Absent: Commissioner Bobby Blackwell <br />City Staff Present: Joel Albrecht, Director of Comm. Development; Mark <br />Lewis, City Inspector; Ervin Griffith, Building Official/Zoning <br />Administrator; John Armstrong, Asst. City Attorney; Nina Dye, <br />Inspection Secretary; John Joerns, Asst. City Manager; Janie Luna, <br />Asst. to the City Manager <br />• Others Present: Interested Citizens <br />First item on the agenda was approving the minutes from the November 5, <br />1987 Public Hearing. There was a motion by Charles Boyle and a second <br />by Jack Gresham to approve the minutes as read. The vote was unanimous <br />and the motion carried. <br />Next item was to call to order the public hearing to consider a Special <br />Conditional Use Permit Application for St. Mary's Catholic Church for <br />the construction of a Pavilion and parking facilities at 816 Park <br />Street. <br />Tippy Boudreaux, Representative for St. Mary's Catholic Church spoke in <br />favor of this request for construction. <br />Ed Wolf, Property Owner - he has property abutting St. Mary's proposed <br />area for construction. His only concern is the drainage or runoff <br />causing flooding for the area homes. <br />Carlos Smith, Church Member - As a member of the church, he is in favor <br />of this new construction and as an Engineer, the drainage is adequate <br />for this site. <br /> <br />
