y ® • <br />PLANNING & ZONING MINUTES <br />DECEMBER 10, 1987 <br />PAGE 2 <br />Staff is recommending that this application for St. Mary's Catholic <br />Church be granted and include a special condition that the parking be <br />screened from the adjoining residences. <br />Doug Latimer called for discussion regarding this permit. John Joerns <br />pointed out that the drainage system should be delt with by the City <br />and County, not the Church. The City and Church needs to preserve a <br />working relationship should there be any future problems with the <br />drainage. <br />There was a motion by Charles Boyle and a second by Jack Gresham to <br />grant St. Mary's Church the Special Conditional Use Permit for the <br />construction of the pavilion with there being two provisions. First, <br />the drainage system problem should be resolved and second, there should <br />be adequate screening for the parking area. The vote was unanimous. <br />Public Hearing closed. <br />Staff recommended Block 93 be reclassified from R-1 Low Density <br />Residential to General Commercial. <br />• There was a motion by Inge Browder and a second by Janet Graves to <br />grant this reclassification from R-1 to GC in Block 93. There being no <br />opposition, the motion carried. <br />Staff recommended reclassifying the 2.984 acre and the 1.239 acre tract <br />out of the 198.898 acres of land in the W.M. Jones Survey to <br />Neighborhood Commercial. <br />There was a motion by Jack Gresham and a second by Inge Browder to <br />grant this reclassification to Neighborhood Commercial. There being no <br />opposition, the motion carried. <br />Doug Latimer opened the floor to the Commission for any discussion on <br />any property to be considered under the six month review.
