Questions have been asked if office trailers can be used as <br />permanent offices and this definition clarified its usage. <br />They are only allowed subject to the four (4) requirements as <br />listed. <br />There was a motion by Bobby Blackwell and a second by Inge Browder to <br />accept the additional definitions to be incorporated into the draft. <br />The vote was unanimous and the motion carried. <br />Joel Albrecht addressed the 3/4 majority vote. The City Staff <br />discussed the legislation with the legal council for the Texas <br />Municipal League. They told the City of La Porte that "most cities did <br />utilize the 3/~t rule and that the Texas Municipal League favored this <br />usage, but being permissive, the City Council must rule on it before <br />adoption". There was a motion by Inge Browder and a second by Janet <br />Graves to leave the 3/4 majority vote up to City Council. The vote was <br />unanimous and the motion carried. <br />• There was a motion by Janet Graves and a second by Inge Browder to <br />change the order of the agenda allowing the Commission to recommend the <br />landscaping requirements, additional definitions and the 3/4 majority <br />vote to go to City Council. The vote was unanimous and the motion <br />carried. <br />Joel Albrecht briefly read over the proposed Interim Sign Regulation <br />recommended by Staff. <br />Doug Latimer read a letter received by Mr. Olson of Olson Sign Company <br />explaining the type of portable sign he provides. <br />Next, there was a motion by Bobby Blackwell and a second by Janet <br />Graves to approve the Interim Sign Regulations to go before City <br />Council as revised.
