Carl Ferguson, Fairmont Park West Homeowners <br />Association: The homeowners would like to allow J. P. <br />Jackson to build the Boat/R.V. Storage facility without <br />rezoning the entire tracts. <br />2. Jo Davis, 3619 Roseberry: Speaking for herself as well <br />as area residents, the majority are against total <br />rezoning. <br />B. Public Hearing was opened for the Special Conditional Use <br />Permit Request 88-010, by J. P. Jackson to allow construction <br />of a Boat/R.V. Storage Facility to be located on a .5303 acre <br />tract of the W. M. Jones Survey Abstract 482. <br />Those who were in favor of were as follows: <br />1. J. P. Jackson, J. P.'s Service Center: The proposed <br />building will be a duplicate of the building that <br />• currently exists at that location. <br />2. Eddie Gray, Fairmont Park Joint Venture: We are not <br />proposing that Cedarmont Street be opened for access <br />to Fairmont Parkway because the right-of-way is owned <br />by the City of La Porte. Setbacks and landscaping were <br />not addressed due to the fact that they are controlled <br />by the zoning ordinance. <br />8. The Public Hearing was closed. <br />9. There was a motion by Charles Boyle and a second by Jack Gresham <br />to rezone the 13.52 acre tract and an adjoining 4.50 acre tract <br />of the W. M. Jones Survey Abstract 482 from R-3, High Density <br />Residential and Neighborhood Commercial to General Commercial. <br />The vote was 5 ayes and 1 nay. The motion carried. <br />10. There was a motion by Charles Boyle and a second by Jack Gresham <br />to grant the Special Conditional Use Permit to allow J. P. Jackson <br />to construct a Boat/R.V. Storage Facility to be located on the <br />.5303 acre tract of the W. M. Jones Survey Abstract 482. The vote <br />was 4 ayes and 2 nayes. The motion carried. <br /> <br />
