The ordinance currently requires <br />a solid evergreen screen, a minimum of six(6) feet in height. It <br />has been sho~n that this type of screening can cause problems <br />ranging from restricted driver visibility to an increased level <br />of assault and other criminal activity. As a means of improving <br />public safety while still satisfying the aesthetic concerns of <br />the Zoning Ordinance, staff vould suggest the folloving: <br /> <br />A landscape buffer shall be maintained betveen <br />non-residential off-street parking areas of fiverS) <br />spaces and abutting residential district. <br /> <br />all open, <br />or more <br /> <br />Landscape buffers shall be a minimum of <br />width. Plantings should consist of trees <br />shrubs.
