In the case of handicap parking spaces, increase from 13-feet wide by 20-feet <br />long to 14-feet wide by 20-feet long. <br />In the case of "senior" apartment complexes, 90-degree angle or °head-in" parking shall <br />be prohibited. <br />All parking lots in multi-family residential developments shall be a minimum 10-feet <br />away from single-family residential developments. <br />Bond and Insurance <br />A bond and/or irrevocable letter of credit shall be required for apartment complexes <br />and/or developers. The bond and/or irrevocable letter of credit shall be at least one <br />million dollars ($1,000,000) payable to the. City of La Porte as a guarantee of compliance <br />of upkeep and maintenance of the apartment complexes; and further, as a guarantee of <br />compliance with applicable laws, including necessary demolition of buildings that have <br />fallen into disrepair, and other remedial measure as may be necessary to keep apartment <br />complexes maintained and up to standards. The bond and/or irrevocable letter of credit <br />shall be in effect for at least one hundred (100) years. <br />All apartment complexes shall have an effective comprehensive, general liability <br />insurance policy, with the City of La Porte being named as an additional named insured <br />in the amount of one million dollars ($1,000,000) for the life of the structures within the <br />apartment complex, and/or the apartment complex itself. <br />III. CLOSE PUBLIC HEARING. <br />Chairperson Waters closed the public hearing at 8:30 PM. <br />IV CONSIDER RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL REGARDING AN <br />AMENDMENT TO ORDINANCE NO. 1501, PERTAINING TO MID TO HIGH <br />DENSITY RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT. <br />Motion by Hal Lawler to recommend City Council approval of an amendment to <br />Ordinance 1501, with the changes recommended by the Commission pertaining to <br />Mid to High Density Residential Development. ~ Second by Ross Morris. All were in <br />favor and the motion carried. <br />V. STAFF REPORTS <br />At future meetings, the Commission will begin to address amending the Zoning Map <br />along with revisions to the Zoning Ordinance pertaining to landscaping, parking, etc. <br />
