APPROVE MINUTES OF THE MAY 15, 2003, REGULAR MEETING 6~ PUBLIC <br />HEARING. <br />Motion by Doretta Finch to approve the Minutes of May 15, 2003. Second by Dottie Kaminski. <br />The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Finch, Kaminski, Lawler, Morris, Dorsett, and Waters <br />Nays: <br />Abstain: <br />III. OPEN PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER REZONE #R03-005 FOR 13.73 ACRES OF <br />LAND LOCATED SOUTH OF McCABE RD AT STATE HIGHWAY 146, FURTHER <br />DESCRIBED AS PARTS OF TRS 8 AND 9B OF THE W.P. HARRIS SURVEY, ABSTRACT <br />30, LA PORTS, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS. THE APPLICANT, ROBERT BURCHFIELD <br />OF BURCHFIELD DEVELOPMENT, L.P., SEEKS TO REZONE THE PROPERTY FROM <br />LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R-1) TO PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT (PUD). <br />Chairperson Waters opened the public hearing at 6:02 P.M. <br />A. STAFF PRESENTATION <br />City Planner, Gwen Goodwin, presented staff's report and answered questions from the <br />Commission. Staff recommended approval of the rezone. <br />Ms. Goodwin noted that no responses were received from the public notification mailout <br />to four adjacent property owners. <br />B. PROPONENTS <br />Rob Burchfield, of W.G. Burchfield and Brother, an industrial and commercial real estate <br />development and brokerage firm since 1906, addressed the Commission. Mr. Burchfield <br />described the characteristics of the property he plans to develop as The Preserve at <br />Taylor Bayou. <br />
