PROPONENTS <br />Bobby Grisham, of Grisham-Tolar Properties located in Deer Park, addressed <br />the Commission. - Mr. Grisham also represents Mr. Tolar and Mr. Howard, all <br />supporting the proposed apartment project <br />Tim Smith, of Barron Builders and Management Company, addressed the <br />Commission. Barron Builders will manage the proposed Fair Mist Apartments. <br />Mr. Smith gave an overview of the Housing Tax Credit Program. Grant money <br />from Hams County has been made available for the project. A letter from Harris <br />County Precinct Two Commissioner Sylvia Garcia indicating support for the . <br />project was submitted.' . Mr. Smith confirmed this property would not be on the <br />City of La Porte tax roll.. <br />C. OPPONENTS <br />There were no opponents. <br />The City received three responses from the mail -out; three opposed and one in favor. <br />Bernard LeGrand, of 3115 Layne Court, asked Assistant City Manager John Joems <br />about a memo he had sent to Mayor and Council :and the TIRZ Board on the subject. <br />Mr. Joems reviewed the memo ' and concurred 'it was an internal notification memo sent <br />out on the proposed tax credit projects in La Porte. <br />Staff noted following points: <br />■ : The sketch of the park is for demonstration purposes only. <br />Need to determine the capability of Canada -Rd. to handle increased traffic from a <br />multi -family development. <br />■ PUD zoning would allow for more controls.. . <br />IV. , CLOSE PUBLIC HEARING. <br />Chairperson Waters closed the public hearing at 6:45: P.M. <br />V.
