CONSIDER RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL REGARDING LA PORTE 2020 <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN 5-YEAR UPDATE. <br /> <br />Planning Director, Wayne Sabo, presented staff's report. The Commission has been copied with the <br />final draft of the 2020 Comprehensive Plan 5 Year Update. <br /> <br />Betty Waters, Chairperson of the 2020 Comprehensive Plan 5-Year Update Review Committee, <br />addressed the Commission. Ms. Waters spoke about the Committee's review of the Plan. The <br />Committee noted accomplishments, as well as areas still requiring attention. <br /> <br />Chairperson Muston expressed concern that businesses locating on Main Street should be the right <br />fit for the District. At the next meeting, Staff will schedule a workshop and provide a list of the Main <br />Street District's allowable uses for the Commission to discuss. <br /> <br />Chairperson Muston thanked Mrs. Waters for the Committee's work. <br /> <br />Motion by Paul Berner to recommend to City Council, adoption of the La Porte 2020 Comprehensive <br />Plan 5-Year Update. OPEN WORKSHOP <br /> <br />Chairperson Muston opened the workshop at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />A. DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL FOR 20 ACRE TRACT (PARCEL 10) - GENERAL PLAN <br />FOR LAKES AT FAIRMONT GREENS <br /> <br />Originally presented to the Commission as the Hettig development consisting of <br />approximately 100 rental homes, the proposed Lakes at Fairmont Greens is to be located <br />along McCabe Rd. at SH 146. <br /> <br />Norman Reed, Project Manager for ARETE Project Development, provided handouts and <br />gave an overview of the various aspects of the proposed development. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />homes on 50' wide lots with rear alleys; garages in rear <br />not starter homes; $175,000-$285,000 (average $250,000) <br />large green areas with recreation <br />connectivity with walking trails <br />8' sound wall along SH 146 frontage <br />1700-3000 sq. ft. homes by Royce Builders <br />will seek variance to allow 10' front setback to achieve 'old town' feel <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br />
