CLOSE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> <br />Chairperson Muston closed the workshop at 7:03 p.m. <br /> <br />12. CONSIDER RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL REGARDING AN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />ZONING ORDINANCE BY AMENDING SECTION 106-742, CODE OF ORDINANCES, RELATED <br />TO THE ALLOWABLE CONCENTRATION OF DOMESTIC LIVESTOCK PER ACRE. <br /> <br />Motion by Dottie Kaminski to recommend to City Council, that the current allowable concentration of <br />domestic livestock per acre remain in tact. Second by Nick Barrera. The Motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Kaminski, Barrera, Meharg, Linscomb, Muston, and Lawler <br />Nays: Finch <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />13. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> <br />Mr. Malik reported the following: <br />. Commission Members attending the APA Conference will leave on October 17. <br />. The regular scheduled meeting date for October is the 18th; Commission Members agreed to <br />change the date to October 11, to avoid a conflict with the APA Conference. <br />. Value Place Hotel - near completion; due to open end of October. <br />· Quality Inn Hotel - building permit issued. <br />· Fairmont Shopping Center - site plan approved. <br />. Candlewood Suites (4-story hotel with 111 rooms) - site plan close to approval. <br />· Advance Auto Parts - new development <br /> <br />Mr. Sabo updated the Commission on the work being done to address drainage problems <br />throughout the City, including the creation of a Flooding and Drainage Sub-committee, which has <br />already begun to meet. <br /> <br />Mr. Sabo reported a traffic study has been finalized, whereby TXDOT has agreed to place <br />signalization at the Wharton Weems/SH 146 intersection. <br /> <br />14. COMMISSION COMMENTS <br /> <br />In Mr. Barrera's survey experience performing drainage studies, he has observed debris blocking <br />manholes and storm inlets. He inquired about the City's maintenance schedule for checking for <br />blockages. Chairperson Muston also suggested educating the public better. <br />
