ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> <br />A. STATE HIGHWAY 146 OVERPASS UPDATE <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager, John Joerns, provided a status update on State Highway 146 <br />overpasses at Wharton Weems Blvd, Shoreacres Blvd., and Red Bluff Rd. There are not <br />enough funds at this time for overpasses at all three intersections. Mr. Joerns provided <br />additional information about plans for the Wharton Weems intersection. <br /> <br />Letters of support for the overpasses are being forwarded from around the area to <br />Congressman Nick Lampson's office. <br /> <br />Motion by Nick Barrera to authorize the Chairperson to send a letter on behalf of the <br />Commission to Congressman Lampson in support of funding for the State Highway 146 <br />Overpasses. Second by Paul Berner. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br />Nays: <br />Abstain: <br /> <br />Muston, Finch, Barrera, Berner, and Lawler <br />None <br />None <br />(Les Bird was unavailable for the vote) <br /> <br />B. SYLVAN BEACH EROSION/RENOURISHMENT PROJECT <br /> <br />Mr. Joerns provided an overview of the State funded Sylvan Beach <br />Erosion/Renourishment Project planned for the waterfront. <br /> <br />C. DRAFT REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR HOTEL DEVELOPMENT <br /> <br />Mr. Joerns provided an update on the proposed hotel project at Sylvan Beach. A request <br />for qualifications has been sent out for the hotel development with responses due by April <br />30th. The hotel would replace the Sylvan Beach pavilion, with there being no net loss of <br />green space. <br /> <br />D. BA YFRONT DEVELOPMENT/REZONING FOR COMMERCIAL RECREATIONAL <br />DISTRICT <br /> <br />Mr. Joerns spoke about the Commercial Recreational District (CR). Although previously <br />designated as a zoning district, regulations were never developed to support the district. <br />In the near future, the Commission will be asked to review and recommend zoning district <br />boundaries and regulations. <br /> <br />E. CITY WIDE MASTER DRAINAGE PLAN <br /> <br />Mr. Joerns provided an update on what is being done to address drainage problems <br />throughout the City. A combination of short term and long term projects are being <br />developed. <br />
