Ad -Hoc Minutes
November 15, 1990
Page 2
NEW BUSINESS (CONTINUED)
Pete Kirchberg requested repair for Lomax fences, lights and
batting cages. Stan advised him that we would repair the lighting
and fences and that the batting cages were built by the Softball
Association and were to be maintained /repaired by them.
George Van Dyke announced that their last game would be December
1, 1990. He stated that they are once again in need of lighted
practice fields. Stan advised that he would contact the School
District regarding the possibility of lighting their fields with
the City maintaining them. George stated that there was a need for
a total of 2 Drill Team practice fields and 4 Football practice
fields. Lee estimated that a rough figure for creating these
fields would be $15,000.00. George will get an estimate ready and
present it prior to the February meeting. George also announced
the need for a storage area for their equipment trailer and their
concession trailer. Stan will ask Chief Powell if the impounding
yard could be used.
Jim Rigby announced that the Soccer Association donated $3700.00
to run fence at Northwest Park Soccer Complex. This job should be
completed in about 2 weeks. A discussion was held on building a
bridge across Big Island Sleu. Stan advised that this would not
be cost effective. Stan announced that in order for the Soccer
Association to build a permanent structure at Northwest, they must
supply a storm water retention where the water can be held. Stan
will visit with the City Engineer to get an approximate cost.
NEXT MEETING
IMPORTANT MEETING: ELECTION OF NEW OFFICERS.
The next meeting will be held on February 19, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. at
the Public Works Building.
Pete Kirchberg made a motion to adjourn this meeting at 9:35 p.m.
seconded by Jim Rigby.
