CAll TO ORDER. <br /> <br />Chairman Maltsberger called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. <br /> <br />2. CONSIDER APPROVAL OF THE OCTOBER 25,2007, MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />Motion by Lawrence McNeal to approve the minutes of the October 25, 2007, meeting. Second by <br />Charles Schoppe. ADMINISTER OATH OF OFFICE TO REAPPOINTED MEMBERS CHESTER POOL, GEORGE <br />MAL TSBERGER, CHARLES SCHOPPE, ROD ROTHERMEL, AND BOB CAPEN <br /> <br />Clark Askins, Assistant City Attorney, administered the oath of office to reappointed members <br />Chester Pool, George Maltsberger, Charles Schoppe, Rod Rothermel, and Bob Capen. <br /> <br />4. CONSIDER VARIANCE REQUEST #V07-007 FOR THE PROPERTY lOCATED AT 10926 <br />MESQUITE DRIVE, FURTHER DESCRIBED BY THE HARRIS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT AS <br />lOT 9, BLOCK 11, FAIRMONT PARK EAST, SECTION 2, VOLUME 319, PAGE 53, H.C.M.R., W. M. <br />JONES SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 482, lA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS. THE <br />APPLICANTS, MARK AND YVONNE FISHER, SEEK A VARIANCE TO AllOW THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF A SWIMMING POOL BY REDUCING THE SETBACK ON THE SEPARATION <br />FROM THE ADJACENT STRUCTURE REQUIREMENT AND SETBACK FROM A UTILITY <br />EASEMENT IN THE REAR YARD. THIS VARIANCE IS BEING SOUGHT UNDER THE TERMS OF <br />SECTION 106-192 (b) (2) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES. <br /> <br />A. STAFF PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Masood Malik presented Staffs Report. The property owners are requesting a variance to construct <br />a swimming pool at 10926 Mesquite and Driftwood Drive in Fairmont Park East, Section 2. They <br />are asking the Board to consider granting a variance for a 4' setback in lieu of 6' from the primary <br />structure and O' from the utility easement to accommodate a desired layout of their swimming pool. <br /> <br />Twenty seven property owners located within 200 feet of the subject tract were mailed public <br />hearing notices. The City did not receive any responses from the mail-out. <br /> <br />B. PROPONENTS <br /> <br />Chairman Maltsberger swore in Yvonne Fisher, the property owner. Mrs. Fisher seeks a variance <br />for reduced setbacks in order to construct a swimming pool for their 20-year old son, who is <br />
