City Secretary Martha Gillett advised <br /> the only persons requesting to speak were on public hearing items. <br /> 5. Public Hearing —Council to consider recommendation of Planning and Zoning Commission <br /> to approve Special Conditional Use Permit(SCUP) Request#SCU08-003 for operating a <br /> women's substance abuse recovery center in a Light Industrial Zone, at 942 South 14th <br /> Street. <br /> Open Public Hearing—Mayor Porter opened the Public Hearing at 6:05 p.m. <br /> Planning Director Tim Tietjens presented summary and recommendation and answered <br /> Council questions. <br /> Public Input-The following citizens addressed Council: <br /> Marie Meehan, Director of House for Woman —spoke in favor of the request. <br /> Diane Campbell—of Lutheran Church—spoke in favor of the request. <br /> Theresa Bayer—member of Lutheran Church—spoke in favor of the request. <br /> Connie Fortune—309 S. Virginia—works for Alanon --spoke in favor of the request. <br /> Mary Cummings—teacher at La Porte Elementary—spoke in favor of the request. <br /> The Public Hearing was closed at 6:23 p.m. <br /> Recommendation of Planning and Zoning Commission - recommended approval of <br /> Special Conditional Use Permit#SCU08-003 for operating a women's substance abuse <br /> recovery center in a Light Industrial Zone, at 942 S. 14th Street. <br /> 6.
