Clowes <br /> <br />The public hearing opened at 7:46 p.m. City Planner Ian Clowes presented a summary. <br /> <br /> There were no public comments, and the public hearing was closed at 7:57 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmember Earp made a motion to accept the recommendation by the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission and approve an Ordinance amending Chapter 106 “Zoning” of the City of La Porte <br />Code of Ordinances in connection with a comprehensive review and update to Chapter 106, <br />“Zoning,” but with a couple of changed, to remove distribution centers and warehouses to be sent <br />back to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a definition and remove NAICS Code 532490 with <br />footnote 18 in the Main Street District. Councilmember Zemanek seconded. MOTION PASSED <br />UNAINMOUSLY 9/0. <br /> <br />Prior to council action, Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read the caption of Ordinance 2018-3723 AN <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 106 “ZONING” OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE IN CONNECTION WITH THE ANNUAL COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW AND UPDATE; <br />PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED <br />GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND UPON CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED IN A SUM NOT TO EXCEED <br />TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS; PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THE CAPTION HEREOF; <br />CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />(f)Public hearing to receive comments regarding Harris County’s Method of Distribution (MOD) <br />for the Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Round 1 <br />Funds for the Hurricane Harvey – L. Wingate <br /> <br />The public hearing opened at 8:00 p.m. City Engineer Lorenzo Wingate presented a summary. <br /> <br />Councilmember Bentley left the table at 8:02 p.m. and returned at 8:02 p.m. <br /> <br /> There being no public comments, the public hearing was closed at 8:09 p.m. <br /> <br />7. RESOLUTIONS/AUTHORIZATIONS <br />(a) Consider approval or other action regarding a Resolution adopting the 2018 Appraisal Roll <br />of the Harris County Appraisal District – M. Dolby <br /> <br /> Finance Director Michael Dolby presented a summary. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zemanek made a motion to adopt a Resolution adopting the 2018 Appraisal Roll of <br />the Harris County Appraisal District. Councilmember Engelken seconded. MOTION PASSED <br />UNAINMOUSLY 9/0. <br /> <br />(b) Consider approval or other action regarding an Ordinance establishing the tax rate for the <br />City of La Porte for the current tax year (2018) for a total tax rate of $0.71 per hundred dollar <br />valuation - M.
