10. COUNCIL COMMENTS Hear announcements concerning matters appearing on the agenda; <br />items of community interest; and/or inquiries of staff regarding specific factual information or <br />existing policy from the Mayor, Councilmembers, and City staff, for which no formal action will <br />be discussed or taken. <br /> <br />Councilpersons welcomed new Councilperson Mandi Williams and noted how much they looked <br />th <br />forward to working with her; congratulated the July 4 contest winners; commended the City staff for <br />the budget preparation and presentations and for answering questions in advance to permit the meeting <br />move more efficiently; wished the City Manager to get well soon; expressed a wish that the City run <br />itself on as little money as possible, perform essential services only, and save more money; recognized <br />Sgt. Scott Pullig and Asst. Chief Matt Daeumer on their recent graduations in advanced areas <br />of law enforcement; and thanked the City for their welcome. <br /> <br />11. EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />a. City Council will meet in closed session pursuant to Texas Government Code, Section <br />551.074 (1)(A) Pending or Contemplated Litigation: Discuss SV Sons Highway 146, LLC <br />vs. City of La Porte, Texas, lawsuit with legal counsel. <br /> <br />The Council recessed at 8:55 p.m. to convene in executive session. <br /> <br />12.
