Small fund shortages are paid from the divisional motor pool <br />account and repaid by division in the following budget cycle. <br />c) The amounts listed in the table for vehicles/equipment are the funding amounts <br />approved by Council for the FY 2023-24 budget for equipment replacement. Each <br />division will pay lease fees over the life of the units to establish a funded amount <br />for future replacements. <br />d) The balance remaining (funded amount minus replacement costs) either remains <br />in the divisional motor pool account to pre-fund a portion of the replacement <br />vehicle or is sometimes utilized by the division for up-fitting equipment. (e.g. light <br />bar, trailer hitch, patrol unit up-fitting). <br /> <br />Staff recommends purchase of the listed vehicles and equipment through cooperative <br />purchasing programs. The Purchasing Division of the Finance Department has <br />reviewed the recommendation for vehicle and equipment purchases and is in support <br />of this recommendation.
