Chapter 753 <br />H.B, NO, 1376 <br />1 AN ACT <br />2 relating to the definition of a junked vehicle fox purposes of <br />3 abatement of a public nuisance. <br />4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS; <br />5 SECTION 1. Section 683.071, Transportation Code, is amended <br />6 to read as follows: <br />7 Sec. 683.071. DEFINITION. In this subchapter, "junked <br />8 vehicle" means a vehicle that is self - ,propelled and: <br />g (1) displays an expired license plate or invalid motor <br />10 vehicle inspection certificate or does not display a license plate <br />11 or motor vehicle inspection certificate; and [ <br />12 . <br />13 k --- ante <br />14 E <br />15 l <br />16 (2) is: <br />17 (A) wrecked, dismantled or partially dismantled, <br />18 or discarded; or <br />lg (B) inoperable and has remained inoperable for <br />20 more than: <br />21 (i) 72 consecutive hours, if the vehicle is <br />22 on public property; or <br />23 (ii) 30 consecutive days, if the vehicle is <br />24 on private property. <br />1 <br />
