contract terms with WCA/GFL representatives to clarify and confirm contract <br />requirements. WCA/GFL has agreed to delay the cost increase to commercial users <br />until January 1, 2022. This will allow time for evaluation of customers to determine <br />possible changes to size of bin or collection frequency. <br /> <br /> <br />Staff recommends execution of a contract with WCA / GFL. The current contract with <br />Waste Corporation of Texas dba GFL expires on October 31, 2021. The service <br />provider will notify all customers of the rate change that will become effective on <br />January 1, 2022. <br /> <br />Benefits: <br /> No transition period for commercial business <br /> Service provider remains the same Same service call center <br /> Businesses will receive new bins <br /> 22 City facilities are serviced at no charge <br /> Three (3) annual special events are serviced at no charge <br /> Provider will co-sponsor Household Hazardous Waste Collection events <br /> <br /> <br />Liabilities: <br /> No city-wide contract would allow multiple providers servicing dumpsters <br />throughout the City. <br /> <br /> <br />ACTION REQUIRED BY CITY COUNCIL <br />Award RFP #21502, Collection and Disposal of Containerized Solid Waste to <br />Waste Corporation of Texas dba GFL Environmental and authorize the City <br />Manager to execute a franchise contract for an initial 5-year service term. <br /> <br />Approved for the City Council meeting agenda <br /> <br />Corby D.
