<br />DISTRICT 2 ............... POPULATION 5,306 <br />Represented by Councilperson....Chuck Engleken 3319 Gladwyne Lane <br />La Porte, TX 77571 <br />District 2 is bounded by Spencer Highway on the North, Underwood <br />Road on the East, Fairmont Parkway on the South and San Jacinto <br />College on the West. <br />District 2 is an area of moderately priced homes with few general <br />commercial areas along the north, south and east boundaries. <br />This area of La Porte was annexed into the corporate limits of the city <br />on November 22, 1983. The predominate zoning for this district is <br />residential. <br />District 2 is comprised of 4 subdivisions, Spinwick, Brookglen, Pecan <br />Crossing and Summer Wind. There is one trailer park, Pecan <br />Plantation. <br />Pecan Crossing was built in the late 80's and Summer Wind in 98. <br />Pecan Plantation in 96. <br />There are parks, a civic center with an active homeowners association in <br />the Brookglen area and a new homeowners association in the Summer <br />Wind subdivision. Pecan Crossing also has deed restrictions. <br />A West Side Regional Park is in the planning stage.
