<br />Summary: The functions of the Police Department, under the direction of the Chief, are to enforce
<br />Federal, State and Local Laws, as well as the ordinances of La Porte and provide the public
<br />with safety. The Police Officers will respond to an estimated 36,000 calls this year. The
<br />department has 107 personnel of which 75 are officers, 71 marked and unmarked police
<br />vehicles and various support equipment.
