FOR THE POSITI[ON OF CITY MANAGER STATE OF TEXAS THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into effective the 6th day of July, 2015i, by and between the City of La Porte Texas, a municipal, corporation, hereinafter called "Employer", and Corby D. Alexander, hereinafter called "Employee", both of whom understand as follows: WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, Article 111, Section 3.01 of the Chat -ter of the City of La Porte states that the City shall appoint a city manager who shall be the chief executive officer and head of the administrative branch of the city government; and WTIEREAS, Employer desires to employ the services of said Corby D. Alexander as &np4eyee City Manager of the City of La Porte, as-pf&wded4yisle 31-1 Se, the Cli-E,1 of La�P�, and WHEREAS, Employee desires employment ar&-Einpleyee for the position of City Manager of said City of La Porte; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the governing body, hereinafter called "City Council," to provide certain benefits, to establish certain conditions of employment, and to set working conditions of said Employee, in connection with, his duties as City Manager; and WHEREAS, The parties acknowledge that Employee is, a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), and the Texas City Management Association (TCMA) and that Employee is subject to the Codes of Ethics of these organizations-, NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants herein contained, the parties agree as follows: Section 1: Duties Employer hereby agrees to employ said Corby D.
