of the allocated grant funding would allow for drainage improvements to be made at the most downstream end of <br />the storm water collection system to provide additional conveyance capacity within the system. <br />Fulfills application requirement(s) of providing a resolution authorizing application submission. <br />Liabilities: <br />6th Street, from W. Madison Street to W. Main Street., has significant ponding in storm events as low as 5-year <br />event; the storm sewer collection system becomes surcharged and flows backward/upstream and bubble out of <br />the inlets along 6th Street. The area is very flat with no room for the water to leave the street, causing ponding in <br />the street and the adjacent yards until water levels within the collection systems recede and there is volume <br />available for the ponded water to gravity drain dry. <br />Lack of resolution would not fulfill GLO CDBG-DR application submittal requirement(s), causing the application <br />to be rendered deficient, leading to potential failure to secure funding. <br />Operating Costs: <br />No Impact. <br />Action Required by Council: <br />Consider approval of Resolution authorizing the submittal of an application to the Texas General Land Office for <br />the 2015 Floods and Storms (DR-4223 and DR-4245) Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery <br />Program. <br /> <br />Approved for City Council Agenda <br />Corby D.
