Informal monthly site inspections will be conducted during the first growing <br />season in order to quickly identify potential problems. <br /> <br />Scheduled monitoring events include: <br />45 days post-pla~ting <br /> <br />The first scheduled monitoring event wil! be conducted within 45 days of the initiation of <br />Phase I. The first inspection will focus principally on the survival of planted vegetation. <br /> <br />Characteristics to be monitored; <br />o Plant survival- emergent and transitional plants (quantitative) <br /> <br />End of the 1st Growing Season <br /> <br />The second monitoring event will be conducted in the fall, at the end of the first growing <br />season. This inspection will focus on the growth of planted vegetation, growth of <br />undesirable species, and the integrity of constructed levees. Wildlife utilization will be <br />noted during the inspection{s) will be documented. <br /> <br />Characteristics to be monitored; <br />. Plant survival- emergent, transitional, and upland (quantitative) <br />. Foliar aerial coverage (quantitative) <br />. Growth of invasive undesirable vegetation (quantitative) <br />. Levee integrity (qualitative) <br />. Wildlife utilization (qualitative) <br />. Aerial photograph (quantitative) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Beginning of the 2nd Growing Season <br /> <br />Monitoring events will be conducted in spring and fall, to correspond with the beginning <br />and end of the growing season. Semi-annual inspections will be conducted until Phase I <br />Performance Standards have been. <br /> <br />Characteristics to be monitored; <br />. Foliar aerial coverage (quantitative) <br />. Growth of invasive undesirable vegetation (quantitative) <br />. Levee integrity (qualitative) <br />.
