Section Results of election. <br />If a m ority of the electors voting on a proposed initiative <br />ordinance shall vote in favor thereof, it shall thereupon be a'n <br />ordinance of the city. A referred ordinance which .is not ap, <br />proved by a majority of the electors voting .thereon shall <br />thereupon be deemed repealed. If conflicting urdinanees are <br />approved by the. electors at the same election, the one receiv- <br />ing the greatest number of affirmative votes shall prevail td <br />the extent of such conflict. <br />Section 99. Repealing ordinances; publication. <br />Inktiative 'and referendum ordinances adopted or approve8 <br />by the electors shall be published, and may be amended or <br />repealed by the commission, as in the case of other ordinances. <br />Section 100. Recall; general. <br />The mayor or any member of the commission may be re- <br />moved from office by recall. <br />Section 101. Recall procedure. <br />Any elector of the City of La Porte may make and file with <br />the city clerk an affidavit containing the name or names of <br />the officer or officers whose removal is sought and state- <br />ment of the grounds for removal. The clerk shall thea reupon <br />deliver to the elector making such affidavit copies of petition <br />blanks demanding such removal. The city clerk shall keep <br />a sufficient number of such printed petition blanks on hand <br />for distribution. Such blanks when issued by the city clerk <br />shall bear the signature of that officer and be addressed to <br />the commission, and shall be numbered,, dated and indicate <br />the name of the person to whom issued. The petition blanks <br />when issued shall also ' indicate the- name of the person to <br />whom issued. The petition blanks when issued shall also <br />indicate the number of such blanks issued and the name of the <br />officer whose removal is sought. The city clerk shall enter <br />in a record to be kept in his office the name of the elector <br />to whom the petition blanks were issued and the number is- <br />sued to said person. <br />Section 102. Recall petitions. <br />The recall petition to be effective must be returned and <br />filed with the city clerk within thirty (30) days after the <br />filing of the affidavit required in section 101, and it must <br />be signed by qualified electors of the city' equal in number <br />to at least fifty per cent (5091o) of those who were qualified <br />voters and voted on the date of the last regular municipal <br />election, and at least one-half of the qualified voters consti- <br />tuting such fifty per cent (509-) signing the petition shall <br />make affidavit, to be filed with the petition, to the effect that <br />they voted for the person whose recall is sought, in th6 elea- <br />tion at which he was last elected. Such recall petition shall con- <br />form to the provisions of section 91 herein, and no petition <br />papers shall be accepted as a part of a petition unless it bears <br />the signature of the city clerk, as required in section 101 <br />herein. <br />
