DISCUSSION OF DEPARTMENT PROJECTS - Continued <br />(B WATER WELL - Mayor Thomas stated that progress was <br />being made regarding the site for the new water well <br />and hoped to advertise for bids soon. <br />(C) LAWN MOWER - Commissioner Christensen informed the <br />Commissioners of a need for an additional lawn mower <br />due to the fact that one of the mowers was no longer <br />usable. <br />Motion by Commissioner Christensen, seconded by <br />Commissioner Kibodeaux to authorize the advertisement <br />and acceptance of bids to be received on November 4, <br />1974, at 7:00 P.M. for a riding 1-awn mower. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />13 <br />• (D) Commissioner Kibodeaux thanked Mr. Carl Lyons for <br />notifying the City of the water leak in Crescent Shores. <br />(E) There was a brief discussion regarding the water <br />rates, the Water Department being subsidized and <br />inflation. <br />Mr. Carl Lyons suggested that a rubber stamp be made and <br />stamped on the water bills, asking people to report water <br />leaks. This might help the City account for water <br />pumpage loss. <br />(E) AUTOMOBILE SETTLEMENT - Mr. Askins informed the <br />Commission that settlement had been reached regarding <br />the police car that was wrecked July 30, 1974. With <br />the settlement and the salvage price the City would <br />get full recovery for the price of the automobile. <br />Mr. Askins stated that Mr. A. J. Busch had been called <br />from the meeting due to a slight emergency. <br />(F) CONTRACTS - TURNER, COLLIE & BRADEN - Mayor Thomas <br />informed the Commission that the contracts from Turner, <br />Collie & Braden regarding the overpass at Spencer High- <br />way, had been received. The City Attorney and Engineer <br />were checking them before they were brought before the <br />• Commission. <br />+ + + <br />
