r <br />40 PUBLIC, HEARING NOTICE <br />INPUT TO POPULATION AND LAND USE PROJECTIONS (DRAFT) <br />AREAWIDE WASTE TREATMENT MANAGEMENT PLANNING PROGRAM <br />(PURSUANT TO SECTION 208 OF THE <br />FEDERAL WATER POLLUTION CONTROL ACT AMENDMENTS OF 1972) <br />HOUSTON-GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL <br />LARGE CONFERENCE ROOM <br />3701 WEST ALABAMA <br />HOUSTON, TEXAS <br />MAY 13, 1976 AT 2 P.M. <br />The document for consideration is entitled, "Population -Land <br />Use, Draft Interim Projections for the Areawide Waste Treat- <br />ment Management Plan." The report presents procedures and <br />results of population and land use studies performed for a <br />planning program being developed under the requirements of <br />Section 208 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act <br />Amendments of 1972 (Public Law 92-500). The planning area <br />includes all of Harris County and portions of Brazoria, Fort <br />Bend, Galveston, Montgomery, and Waller Counties. Funding <br />• for the program is being provided by a 100 percent grant <br />from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency. Copies of <br />the population/land use report can be obtained free -of -charge <br />at the offices of the H-GAC (627-3200). <br />The purpose of the hearing on May 13, 1976, is to receive the <br />comments and suggestions of any person or group concerning <br />the process, the assumptions, and the resultant projections. <br />The Agenda will be as follows: <br />1) Opening Statement and Presentation of <br />Background Information (H-GAC Staff) <br />2) Public Testimony <br />3) Conclusion and Announcement of Future <br />Action <br />Those wishing to present testimony must register prior to <br />speaking. Registration can be made at the meeting or by <br />contacting Ms. Linda Homfeld (Extension 247) beforehand. <br />Depending on the number of registrations, a time limit for <br />presentations may be established.
