When a holiday falls on a Saturday, Friday will be observed. <br />When one falls on a Sunday, Monday will be taken. <br />3. All employees will be paid one day's pay for each official <br />holiday. To be eligible for holiday pay the employee must <br />work the scheduled workday preceeding and following the <br />holiday unless absence with excuse is acceptable to the <br />department head. <br />4. Employees scheduled to work on a holiday, and fail to work <br />as scheduled, will not be eligible for holiday pay. <br />5. When an employee has to work on a holiday, the employee will <br />receive the days pay plus time and one-half (1-1/2) for hours <br />worked. <br />
