Box 13089 <br />Houston, Texas 77019 <br />3203 West Alabama <br />(713) 528-6361 <br />Telex 77-4185 <br />We are pleased to submit the enclosed draft engineering services contract <br />in response to your request for a proposal to conduct a Traffic Engineer- <br />ing Survey and Study for the City of La Porte. We are submitting the draft <br />contract in lieu of the requested proposal based on the request of Mr. Jim <br />Freeman, District Manager, Office of Traffic Safety, State Department of <br />Highways and Public Transportation, that the study be completed by the end <br />of the current fiscal year, September 30, 1977. Due to the time delay <br />imposed by a proposal submission followed by preparation of the draft <br />contract, we prepared the draft contract and have received telephonic <br />approval from Mr. Jim Freeman of the scope of work outlined in the contract. <br />If the enclosed draft contract is approved by the City Council, the un- <br />signed draft contract should be submitted to the Office of Traffic Safety <br />for approval and funds allocation. When notified that the draft contract <br />has been approved by the Office of Traffic Safety, we will prepare and execute <br />two copies of the contract and forward them to you for execution. <br />Copies of the draft contract have been furnished to Chief H.L. Freeman, Jr. <br />and Sergeant Jim LaFitte, City of La Porte Police Department, for their <br />information and review.
