• <br />• <br />C• <br />N <br />5, Prepare a permanent record card on each parcel of land included in Item 2 <br />above for the City tax office. These records will contain the property <br />description, recommended land valuation, and how determined, a dimensional <br />sketch of any improvements on the land, complete with details of construction, <br />recommended values for the improvement and how determined, and any other data <br />pertinent to the particular property. <br />6. Assist the Tax Assessor -Collector in setting up records on the above proper- <br />ties, achieving equalization throughout the taxing jurisdiction, and meeting <br />deadlines and legal requirements for each of the years. 1978, 1979, and 1980. <br />7. Prepare recommended City assessments and "in lieu of taxes" payments for each <br />industrial plant within the City's Industrial Districts in accordance with the <br />current Industrial District agreements between the various industries and the <br />City. This will be done for tax years 1978 and 1979. In 1979, will assist <br />the City in negotiating new Industrial District contracts, and prepare the <br />tax data for 1980 in accordance with these new contracts. <br />8.. Work with the Tax Assessor -Collector, the Board of Equalization, the_ Mayor, <br />and City Commission to promote harmony and understanding. <br />9. Sit with the Board of Equalization at their meetings as necessary and make <br />available information relating to property values which may be used by <br />them as they see fit in determining the values which should be assigned to <br />properties coming before them. <br />THE SECOND PARTY also agrees that in the event the recommended values <br />are protested by the owners or representatives of the property, SECOND PARTY <br />will furnish expert testimony at their own expense in the District Court of <br />Harris County, Texas. <br />IT IS FURTHER UNDERSTOOD by both parties hereto, that the re -cord cards <br />mentioned in Item 5 above will become the exclusive property of the City <br />of La Porte, and the City may sell or share this information with any other <br />taxing jurisdiction as they may see fit. <br />- 3- <br />
