u <br />(• <br />(9 <br />w <br />WHEREAS, the firm of Biggs, Landrum and Associates has proposed to <br />the City of La Porte, Texas, that a new contract be entered into between that <br />firm and the City of La Porte, said contract to cover a complete reappraisal of <br />all taxable real property and land, and the gathering and compiling of informa- <br />tion relating to the values of the properties above identified as of January 1, <br />1978, and to up -date these property values as of January 1, 1979, and January 1, <br />1980, and make this information available to the City Tax Assessor -Collector and <br />the Board of Equalization to be used as they may see fit in determining the values <br />which should be assigned to said properties properly coming before them for consi- <br />deration and within its jurisdiction for tax purposes in the City of La Porte, <br />Texas, for each of the years 1978, 1979, and 1980, for the sum of THIRTY-EIGHT <br />THOUSAND DOLLARS ($38,000.00) per year for each of the calendar years 1978, 1979, <br />and 1980. <br />IT IS THEREFORE AGREED by and between the City of La Porte, Texas, acting <br />herein by its duly authorized Mayor and City Commission, FIRST PARTY, and the firm <br />of Biggs, Landrum and Associates of Houston, Harris County, Texas, SECOND PARTY as <br />follows: <br />THE SECOND PARTY AGREES TO: <br />1. Inspect, measure as necessary, classify, and appraise all residential and com- <br />mercial buildings within the City of La Porte for tax year 1978. For tax years <br />1979 and 1980, any new improvements will be appraised for addition to the appro- <br />priate years' tax roll and any adjustments deemed necessary will be made. <br />2. Inspect and appraise all taxable residential lots and acreage within the City <br />for the tax year 1978, and make any split -outs or necessary adjustments for the <br />tax years 1979 and 1980. <br />3. Inspect and appraise each industrial plant located within the City of La Porte, <br />or either of the Industrial Districts for City taxes and "in lieu taxes" <br />payments for each of the years 1978, 1979, and 1980. <br />4. Inspect and appraise all utilities, railroads, and pipe lines located within <br />the City as necessary for City taxes or "in lieu taxes" payments for each of <br />the years 1978, 1979, and 1980. <br />
